Collection description

The dataset consists of digital copies of the cards, ruleset and flowcharts explaining gameplay, all of which were newly created for this game, through a combination of applied and theoretical research, including historical research, into the topic and time period, game-based learning research, and historical game studies research into new ways of better translating history into game form.

The purpose is to provide an Active Learning educational experience in game form, aiming to enable improved student understanding of factors impacting historical revolutions, starting with France, 1848, and also to test new forms of research-led game co-creation. The Project AWARE (Access to Wargaming in Education) was led by PI Dr Timothy Noël Peacock.
