Collection description

Overview:

The ChargePoint website is available at https://driver.chargepoint.com/mapCountry/GB. It contains the information of public chargers across Great Britain. There are links to the map, wait list, Some features are for logged in users only who have a driver account and can access special offers, station access, and charging discounts with a ChargePoint account.

ChargePoint charging session dataset:

This dataset was scraped from the ChargePoint website. Specific attributes include charge price, charge speed, parking fees, and geographical location.

Additionally, the dataset includes the availability status of each charger at 15-minute intervals from December 6, 2023, to March 31, 2024 (at :15, :30, :45, and :00 of each hour).

Access and restrictions:

UBDC's licence agreement limits access to UK-based academics conducting non-commercial, academic research. The datasets can only be used for research in the social sciences, including transport policy.

To use the data, researchers need to apply to UBDC setting out a summary of the work they plan to undertake so that the usage can be assessed against these criteria. Please apply to UBDC. If the intended use falls within the terms of the licence, researchers will be asked to sign an End User Licence agreement. Datasets will be shared with eligible applicants on receipt of completed license agreements.
