Project Information:
Tracking Parkinson's is a prospective study of recent- and young-onset Parkinson’s disease and selected siblings. Our research objectives relate to variability in the clinical phenotype of Parkinson’s, which we analyse in relation to genetics and potential biomarkers. There is a specific focus on motor, non-motor and cognitive features, and to response to drug therapy. Since 2011, we have collected observational data from people with Parkinson’s over a period of 90 months and over 300 of their siblings over 36 months. Measurements include anthropometric, behavioural, cognitive, demographic, neurological and pharmacological data. Participants provide psychological and physiological functional ratings as well as blood and DNA samples. Data collection is on-going until late end of 2021.
