Pearce, A. , Kromydas, T. , Hazle, D. and Dundas, R. (2026) The Scottish Priority Family Groups Dataset. [Data Collection]

Collection description

An ecological (ward-level) dataset, produced to help improve local understanding of the six Priority Family Groups identified by Scottish Government as being at greatest risk of experiencing child poverty: lone parent families, young mothers, large families, ethnic minority families, families where someone is living with a disability, and families with an infant. The dataset brings together publicly available Census 2022 data*, to provide estimated numbers and percentages of children/families for each priority family group, as well as national rankings and population-weighted deciles.

*Scotland Census 2022 data are used in accordance with the relevant Open Government Licence.
