UBDC monitors the current listings on a daily basis, storing the results in a database of raw data. Each listing has an entry for each day that it appears. At the end of a given period, we identify listings which have closed, i.e. not been advertised in the last three months. Information for the listing is then collapsed into a single record which contains first and last dates for the listing along with information on changes in asking price/rent. This is the version of the data made available to researchers. As previously, there is a three-month lag built-in to this approach. The Generation 2 datasets cover the period from the 1st of October 2016 onwards.
