The data from the earlier study can be viewed here http://dx.doi.org/10.5525/gla.researchdata.1038 The aim of the follow-up surveys was to be able to explore how the COVID-19 pandemic and restrictions/'lockdown' were impacting the UK population's visits to green space in November 2020 and April 2021 compared to data collected during the initial 'stay at home' phase of restrictions in April/May 2020 (http://dx.doi.org/10.5525/gla.researchdata.1038). The surveys were conducted using an online interview administered to members of the YouGov Plc UK panel of 800,000+ individuals who agreed to take part in surveys. The November 2020 survey was completed between 25th - 26th November 2020, with a nationally representative sample of 2,246 respondents. The April 2021 survey was completed between 29th – 30th April 2021, with a nationally representative sample of 2,215 respondents. In the surveys, respondents were asked about their frequency of green space visits, as well as their experiences within green space and barriers to visiting green space during the current stage of the pandemic and restrictions. Questions on garden access, pet ownership, household size, urban/rural status and long-standing illnesses/health conditions were also included. Demographic data was provided by YouGov (including sex, age, geographic region, ethnicity, social grade, marital status, working status, the number of children in household, government region and social media usage).
