Figure 2: contains phase pictures of human fibroblasts migrating on PEA and PMA at different time points and an excel file showing the cell velocity. Images of cells were taken from the videos on the file Supplementary movie. 

Figure 3 – S2: contains immunofluorescent pictures of vinculin, actin and nucleus of human fibroblasts. The pictures were processed with the online adhesion server to characterise focal adhesion formation. It also contains GraphPad file showing the corresponding graphs.

Figure 4: contains immunofluorescent pictures of endogenous fibronectin secreted by human fibroblasts, actin and nucleus. The pictures were processed with ImageJ to quantify secreted fibronectin. 

Figure 5: contains immunofluorescent pictures of FITC-FN, actin and endogenous fibronectin. Pictures were processed with ImageJ to quantify fibronectin reorganisation. 

S1: contains AFM images of 1) FN adsorbed on PEA and PMA for 10 min, 2) FN adsorbed on PEA and PMA for 10 min followed by adsorption of 10% FBS for 10 min, and 3) FN adsorbed on PEA and PMA for 10 min followed by adsorption of 10% FBS for 1 h.

S3 - S4 - S5: contains a GraphPad file showing the area and length distribution of focal adhesions, the median of focal adhesion area and length, the mean size and number of focal adhesions. These results were obtained by processing the pictures found in the file Figure 3 – S2. 

S6: contains immunofluorescent pictures of FITC-FN adsorbed on PEA and PMA.
