Project title: High within-herd prevalence and assessment of production impacts of Coxiella burnetii in postpartum cattle from a Scottish dairy herd

The csv file described below includes all for the data fields included in the analyses presented in the paper, except for any fields where inclusion might compromise participant anonymity.  Further description of all of the data fields is given in the main text and/or questionnaire copy included in the supplementary materials. 

Dataset_Coxiella_ScottishDairy_07May2026.csv contains data at the level of the individual animals included in this study.

Laboratory result metadata includes: the cycle threshold (Ct) value recorded in IS1111 qPCR for C. burnetii (IS1111_Ct_PCR), the identification variable for the qPCR run that generated the Ct value (Run_PCR), the estimated genome equivalents calculated from the Ct value (CalcCopiesRx_PCR) and the Log 10 genome copies per reaction (log10GenomesPerReaction).

Animal level metadata includes: the total number of pregnancies in lifetime (parity), days since calving (DIM_Sam2), week 4 milk yield (W4MK_Fresh), log transformed first somatic cell count test (FTSCC_log), sire predicted transmissible ability for milk (SPTAM_Fresh), indicator of pregnancy at first AI (Preg1stX), history of retained foetal membranes (RPHist), history of metritis (MetrHist), history of clinical mastitis (MastHist), history of ketonuria (KetoHist), history of displace abomasum (DAHist), history of hypocalcaemia (MilkFeverHist), indicator of occurrence of any transition disease (PeriPartDx), history of abortion (ABHist), indicator of premature delivery (Gest), indicator of prolonged gestation (LateGest), indicator of stillbirth (CSEXStillBirth), indicator of dystocia (EaseSimple), indicator of occurrence of any gestational or obstetric disease (GOBDx_Factor), indicator of sale <=200 days post partum (Sold200_Exit), indicator of death sale <=200 days post partum (Died200_Exit), indicator of sale or death <=200 days post partum (Exit200_Exit)
