It outlines all variables and coding categories used in the GGCS dataset and describes the conceptual structure of the seven domains that make up the Scorecard. The document serves as an essential companion to the GGCS Excel dataset. Purpose The codebook enables users to understand, interpret, and replicate the coding applied to the GGCS dataset. It includes: - descriptions of each GGCS domain; - definitions of all indicators and metrics; - coding rules and response categories; - domain-level structure and scoring approach; - notes on interpretation and documented limitations. Relationship to the Dataset This codebook is published as a standalone deposit linked to the GGCS Excel dataset (http://dx.doi.org/10.5525/gla.researchdata.2089). - This document explains the logic and meaning of all variables. - The Excel dataset contains the coded data for the 34 jurisdictions included in the Scorecard. Users should read the codebook before analysing or comparing data across jurisdictions.
