Project Overview Title of Dataset: Interviews with primary school teachers in Accra, Ghana Purpose of the data: Qualitative data to explore primary school teachers’ understandings of Ghanaian citizenship in context to the national curriculum reform (2019). The data was collected for a PhD study undertaken at the School of Education, University of Glasgow. Geographic Location: Accra, Ghana, located in West Africa. Date of data collection: February 2020-March 2020 Data Collection Research data initially recorded on MP4 files. These are now destroyed upon containing personal and special category data. Research data transcribed verbatim, and saved onto the formatting of Microsoft Word, as ‘.docx’ Data Analysis No data software was used to analyse the data, given the data was analysed using In-Vivo coding, and Reflexive Thematic Analysis from Braun and Clarke (2021)- a participant-inspired methodology. Data Structure File description 26 transcriptions of qualitative data categorised into three folders pertaining to the three schools. Folder 1 contains anonymised and pseudonymised data from School 1. There are 10 transcriptions in the folder. Folder 2 contains anonymised and pseudonymised data from School 2. There are 8 transcriptions in the folder. Folder 3 contains anonymised and pseudonymised data from School 3. There are 8 transcriptions in the folder. File Organisation Interview transcripts are stored in ‘.docx’ files, named with school, and the participant ID, specific to the order of their interview. As per folder, the transcripts are saved in the following way, for example: ‘School 1. Interview 1’ ‘School 2.
