Data and scripts for "Ecological opportunity leads to higher diversity and probability of trophic specialisation in Arctic charr" by Sam Fenton, Colin W. Bean, Samuel A.M. Martin, Samuel J. Poultney, Kathryn R. Elmer & Colin E. Adams -Sample_list provides a list of all individuals across the different datasets and the corresponding datatypes they have (genetics, phenotypic or genetics+phenotypic). Accession numbers for raw data on NCBI for genetic samples are indicated -Filtered.snps.vcf is the VCF file for the filtered SNP data (N=24,878 SNPs and 410 individuals) and the accession numbers for their raw data on NCBI -HD_metrics provides the HD metrics (VarHD, MeanHD, MinHD, MaxHD) -Individual_HD provides the phenotypic measurements for each individual (Head length to the operculum, head depth, and fork length) used to create the HD metric -Bathymetric_data contains the bathymetric data for all 187 lakes used as part of the predictive model for potential ecotype divergences. Littoral zone percentage was calculated using available bathymetric maps for lakes (Altitude, max depth, mean depth, surface area, littoral zone percenateh, and ecosystem size). For lakes without bathymetric maps, littoral zone was calculated using the regression from the established relationship between littoral zone percentage, maximum depth and surface area for lakes with that data. Values estimated without bathymetric maps are indicated in the estimated_littoral_zone column. Ecosystem size values were generated from PC1 from a PCA using the other bathymetric variables. Lakes with co-existing ecotypes are also indicated. -R scripts are provided for running the phenotypic analysis (generation of HD metrics) and ecotype predictive models
