Flood estimation for ungauged catchments in the Philippines: Annual Maximum Flow (AMAX) and catchment properties data This dataset contains (i) Annual Maximum Flow (AMAX) and (ii) catchment properties for 842 river catchments in the Philippines. These data were used to estimate flood discharges, which are also included in the dataset. Contact: richard.williams@glasgow.ac.uk; trevor.hoey@brunel.ac.uk; p.tolentino.1@research.gla.ac.uk This data directory contains two files: AMAX.csv ======== AMAX Data compiled from three sources: (1) SWS: “Surface Water Supply of the Philippine Islands” (Irrigation Division, 1923-4) 1908 – 1922. (2) BRS: “Bureau of Research Standards”, later transferred to the Bureau of Design, also under the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). (3) Cagayan: The “Feasibility Study of the Flood Control Project for the Lower Cagayan River in the Republic of the Philippines” produced by Nippon Koei Co. and Nikken Consultants Inc. in collaboration with the DPWH in 2002. The longest record is 62 years in duration. Row 4 of the data lists how many flow values were removed from each catchment due to exceptionally low flow values that were deemed unrealistic. Catchment_Properties_and_Flow_Estimation.csv ============================================ Catchment properties were extracted using the database described by Boothroyd et al. (2023). Flood estimates were calculated using the methodology described in the accompanying paper.
