***Purpose*** This document describes the data sets and analysis scripts deposited in the University of Glasgow Enlighten Research Data repository under the following DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.5525/gla.researchdata.733 These items were used for the data analysis presented in the paper "Analysing livestock network data for infectious diseases control: an argument for routine data collection in emerging economies" published in Philosophical Transactions B under the following DOI: doi.org/10.1098/rstb.2018.0264 The accepted version of the paper and supplementary information (where most of the detailed methods can be found) are available in the University of Glasgow Enlighten Publications repository here: http://eprints.gla.ac.uk/181834/ ***Overview*** The main data set used for this analysis records livestock movements in northern Tanzania recorded from ~30,000 Livestock Movement Permits. This data set belongs to the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries of Tanzania, and we do not have permission to share it publicly. This also applies to the data on the number of cattle in each ward. For information on how to access this data, please contact one of the following authors: Paul.Johnson@glasgow.ac.uk Sarah.Cleaveland@glasgow.ac.uk Rowland.Kao@ed.ac.uk The remainder of this document describes the data sets used, divided into items that are shared publicly (Included) and items that are withheld for the reason stated above (Excluded). ***Included*** Filename: WardSpatialData.csv Description: CSV file giving characteristics of each of the 398 wards, taken from http://www.nbs.go.tz unless stated as being based on Gridded Livestock of the World 2007 (GLW2007) or government data.
