# Data from publication: # From single steps to mass migration: The problem of scale in the movement ecology of the Serengeti wildebeest # Colin J. Torney,J. Grant C. Hopcraft,Thomas A. Morrison,Iain D. Couzin,Simon A. Levin Files: UAV_REL_POS.csv GPS_COORDS.csv Description: UAV_REL_POS.csv contains relative coordinates of tracked wildebeest from UAV video footage. Data consists of the location of near neighbours to an individual in polar coordinates, with the focal individual centred at the origin and moving along the zero angle. Columns: distance - is the distance between the focal individual and the neighbour relative_angle - is the angle between the heading of the focal individual and the position of the neighbour relative_heading - is the heading of the neighbour relative to the focal individual GPS_COORDS.csv contains GPS locations of wildebeest tracked in the Serengeti between 1999 and 2016 Columns: X - is the X-coordinate in metres with the origin taken as the average location of all wildebeest throughout the period Y - is the Y-coordinate in metres with the origin taken as the average location of all wildebeest throughout the period XV - is the X-component of the velocity calculated as the difference between the current day and the next day YV - is the Y-component of the velocity calculated as the difference between the current day and the next day XV_PREV - is the value of XV on the previous day YV_PREV - is the value of XV on the previous day
