Collection description

ESCRT and anillin proteins are the current focus of much study, with many recent papers published in high profile journals. However, up to now, there has been no indication if ESCRT and anillin proteins interact to co-ordinate cytokinesis. Our research aims at studying the potential genetic and/or physical interaction between ESCRT and anillin proteins and the role of such interaction in fission yeast cell cycle regulation. A direct implication of our work is that related interactions between ESCRT and anillin will be found in all eukaryotic organisms, including humans. Thus, this research will inspire the other members of the field and will drive research forward to explore this expectation.
